Eurotrip: Makeup I Packed

I love makeup. I've loved it as long as I can remember. When my parents used to take me and my sister to visit family in Massachusetts, I couldn't wait to go because I knew as soon as we arrived, my cousins would whisk us away to the master bath and put all kinds of goodness on our 5-7 year old faces. When we were done we'd always come out and model for all our aunts and uncles and grandparents. Now, that's not to say that I think children should be wearing makeup on the daily, but I know for us it was always just a fun activity. I have no qualms about going to work, class, the store etc. barefaced - sometimes I'm just not feeling it. But I love buying makeup and using makeup and looking at makeup and collecting makeup... So when it came to packing for my backpacking trip, I knew I wanted to keep it pretty simple but versatile enough to go from the beaches of Nice, to the Champs Elysées, to a pub in Dublin, to watching the World Cup in a Munich beer garden. Nars Tinted Moisturizer I started with Nars Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer (in Fiji) because it has SPF 30 and would help with any dryness I might experience from traveling. I love the way this stuff smells and sits on the skin. To apply my tinted moisturizer, I brought my Beauty Blender. I love my Beauty Blender all year long, but I think I probably could have done without it on this trip because the tinted moisturizer is so easy to apply with just my fingers. UD De-Slick To combat shine whilst traipsing around various cities in the July heat, I brought my Urban Decay De-Slick Mattifying Powder. Urban Decay was one of the first big cosmetic brands I ever got into and I really love their De-Slick powder. It kept my face from sliding off all summer! Travel Minis For my eye I brought my MAC Paint Pot in Camel Coat- it's nice and neutral so I could use it as a base under shadow or with winged liner. It covered any veins in my tired (and often sick) eyes and kept my shadow and liner from creasing and smudging. My mascara of choice was the Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara and High Impact mascara. I had a couple mini's from a gift set I received at Christmas, which was perfect. eye products I love myself some winged liner, so I had to throw in my Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner in Jet Black. It stayed all day and was relatively easy to apply- what more could a girl want? For shadow I threw in a tiny Clinique palette I had in my collection. It has a nice highlight and a pretty medium brown with a decent brush and mirror. My brow product of choice was the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Whiz in Auburn. I also had a mini Benetint Cheek & Lip Stain by Benefit (in the color Rose) floating around my collection, so that came with me as well. Mini and multi-purposed and smells like roses? Yes please. Sticking with my mini's theme: for concealer I had a miniature Benefit Erase Paste Brightening Concealer. It has really good coverage on blemishes or under the eyes, and I didn't find the texture to be cake-y at all. lipsticks At last: lipstick! Lipsticks are one of my favorite categories of makeup. I love to play with different colors and I think they're the surest way to spice up any look. I needed a wide range, so I brought MAC Russian Red, Myth, and Heroine. Those plus my Benetint and some chapstick gave me plenty of lip options. You can see what I packed for clothing here or the gear I brought here! xx Meghan
