So Long Sweet Summer

Welcome to September! I can't believe how fast August flew by. It is now officially September and though the calendar may say we still have 23 more days until autumn, as far as I'm concerned summer is officially over. Today I went into work with my mom to help unpack boxes and get her classroom ready for students tomorrow (the elementary school we both work at underwent an enormous construction project over the summer, so in the spring everything had to be packed up and taken out of the school). I'm actually very excited to start this new school year despite the unknown nature of starting the year as a new paraprofessional. I wanted to just take a minute and kind of memorialize the Summer of 2015, which in my mind was my first true summer being kind of close to an adult. It was pretty mellow overall, but I was able to get some nice relaxing time in with friends and family. Memorial Day Weekend: Kevin and I took Zelda to the beach in Rye and had a nice lunch at Redhook Brewery in Portsmouth. MayMay2 We spent a night at our lakehouse in Maine. May 3 And ended up at my best friend Kaitlyn's lakehouse to celebrate with piña coladas. may4 June: june We spent the first week of summer vacation camping up at Acadia National Park in Maine. It was pretty cold and rainy for most of the trip, but it was still so beautiful and we had a great time. june 2 The view from the top of Cadillac Mountain: IMG_0514   IMG_0546   We also got to spend another weekend at Kaitlyn's lakehouse on Great East Lake-  Zelda ended up lounging out on the lake with us and it was just too freaking cute. IMG_0658   July: At the start of July, our breeder had a birthday party for Zelda's great grandmother, Valeska, who turned 15. It was awesome to see all the dogs and the best part was meeting Zelda's sister, Pimliko! july   Kevin and I ended up in the last row at Gillette Stadium seeing Taylor Swift! IMG_0754   And I got to go on a free day trip to Boston with camp- I loved the aquarium where they had these gorgeous jellies. IMG_0812   August: On August 4th, Kevin and I celebrated our 5 year anniversary. Five years sounds like so long! We returned to Redhook Brewery and had a beautiful dinner and evening together. august   Last weekend, my soon-to-be step sister was married at a country club here in town. It was a beautiful event and I could not be happier for the newly married couple. IMG_1272 So that was my Summer of 2015! Now I think it's time to pack away the flip flops and bikinis in favor of scarves, sweaters, and boots. I can't wait to see what Autumn has in store 🙂 How was your summer? What do you have planned for fall? Xx Meghan
